Commercial Property Solicitor - In-house

Due to growth in the development activities, our client is now seeking to add a property lawyer to the in-house legal team. This position would be best suited to a lawyer with commercial property / real estate expertise who is looking to grow their skill set beyond transactional property work.

Our client is a property development company with a track record, creating and managing large-scale, mixed-use sites in the UK and internationally.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate commercial leases and ancillary documents.
  • Assist with sales and acquisitions, including due diligence, drafting and negotiating sale contracts and transfers.
  • Advise on and review residential lettings.
  • Draft and negotiate property contracts which are needed to facilitate development (e. oversailing licences, licences for works etc.).
The successful candidate will be:

  • UK Qualified Solicitor or Barrister.
  • With at least 4 years post-qualification experience.
The successful candidate will have commercial property expertise gained either at a law firm which is chambers ranked for commercial property and / or development work or alternatively in house, within the in-house Legal Team of a well-known, property or development related organisation.

The company does offer hybrid working and is open to discussion with candidates on the balance between office working and home working.

Our client envisages that candidates with at least 2 years PQE will have the relevant skills / knowledge for this position, however this has been given as an approximate guide for applicants and our client is happy to consider the applications of candidates who fall outside of this PQE range but who have the relevant experience.
