Job Summary:



The Middle Donor Program (MDP) team falls under the Individual Giving department within CRS' Charitable Giving division. The MDP team oversees engagement and stewardship of donors giving $1,000 - $25,000 annually to CRS. The Officer will serve as a key member of the MDP team and report to the Director of Middle Donor Program. They will oversee a portfolio of donors who they will be responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding. They will contribute to the overall MDP team goals related to: donor engagement and relationship management, donor pipeline development and diversification, and raising unrestricted funds.





The Officer will serve as the primary liaison for donors in their portfolio and move these donors from a transactional to a relational experience as supporters of CRS. They will work closely with the Hispanic Development unit to strategically expand and diversify the pipeline of donors giving to CRS. In collaboration with other Charitable Giving teams, they will be responsible for ensuring a high-quality donor experience.





Job Responsibilities:




  • Cultivate relationships with an assigned portfolio of prospects to understand their philanthropic interests and develop individualized engagement strategies.

  • Personally engage donors via individual phone and email communication.

  • Qualify a pool of existing donors to expand current portfolio.

  • Solicit donors for gifts with a focus on retaining or increasing their unrestricted giving to CRS.

  • Maintain accurate records of donor outreach and solicitation in fundraising CRM.

  • Collaborate with the Hispanic Development unit to expand the pipeline of Hispanic donors giving to CRS.

  • Collaborate with Prospect Development team and Leadership Giving to identify major gifts prospects and successfully transfer the donor relationship.

  • Work with other members of the MDP team to develop donor engagement strategies including digital, direct mail, and individual donor portfolio management.

  • Build and reinforce a culture of excellence, collaboration, and learning.

  • Stay abreast of professional trends and issues affecting this set of responsibilities and demonstrate continuous learning in the field.

  • Meet or exceed annual metrics for donor contact and revenue.

  • Incorporate key Charitable Giving three-year action plan initiatives and CRS' new strategy into donor communications. (Cultivating Future Generations of Donors, Operational Excellence, and Deepening Donor Relationships)

  • Other duties as assigned.

Internal: All Charitable Giving teams including the Content team, Donor Services, Data Analytics, Annual Giving, Leadership Giving, Planned Giving, Hispanic Development; Other U.S. facing divisions such as Marketing and Communications & Mission and Mobilization.

Qualifications

Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree, required.




  • 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, preferred.




  • Experiencing cultivating donors and soliciting gifts, preferred.

  • Understanding of Hispanic culture and communities, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.

  • Ability to represent CRS, and confident public speaker.

  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office Systems and fundraising CRM.

  • Creative, self-motivated, and self-directed.





Personal Skills




  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organization skills, time management skills, and attention to detail.

  • Bilingual Spanish/English, preferred.

  • Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and maintaining sensitive donor information.

  • Demonstrates interest in professional development and continuous learning related to this set of responsibilities.

  • Understands and appreciates the structures and culture of the U.S. Catholic Church.

  • Be a conceptual thinker with an ability to work under deadline pressure.

  • Have outstanding collaborative skills and is effective team player in complex environments.





Environment:




  • Full-time telecommuting/home office.





Travel:




  • Occasional travel to visit donors and for CRS HQ meetings may be required - when deemed safe to do so.
