Certified Medical Assistant

Under the direction of the Nursing Manager, and as part of a team-based health care delivery model, assists in the provision of direct patient care by performing routine patient care procedures and technical/clerical support services. Ensures efficient patient flow throughout the clinic, maintains neat, clean, and safe patient care areas, and promotes patient satisfaction through professional and respectful communications.Works in coordination with health care teams to provide patient care that follows the Patient-Centered Medical Home model.


High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Certification program, with current Medical Assistant certification required. Six months prior, relevant working experience preferred. CPR certification required. Must possess knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures of medical assisting including phlebotomy experience, ability to collect samples (e.g. blood, throat cultures, etc.), take vital signs, and to perform limited tests. Must demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the Medical Director, an ability to perform injections, instrumentation or lab procedures as directed. Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word & Excel) required.

Travel to all parts of the facility and throughout the community.


Associate's Degree in Applied Science preferred. Bilingual fluency in written and oral English/Spanish preferred. Experience with electronic health records preferred. Prior experience working in a Pediatric health care environment.
