Event Staff/Food Truck/Delivery

Job Title:  Event Staff/Food Truck/Delivery 

Shifts Available: May-October Season, Saturdays a must!

Reports To: Catering Manager

Summary Description:

This role includes delivering catering orders to Tamale Boy customers, executing catering events such as weddings and private parties, as well as operating the Tamale Boy food truck during public and/or private events. Hours vary depending on catering and event schedule. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be working closely with our catering kitchen and with a small group of servers and bartenders, depending on the event. You will be responsible to confirm food quantities with catering kitchen, load truck, drive to events, set up truck service area or buffet equipment, and execute service.  Execution of service includes interaction with customers, sometimes ringing up customer orders, serving customers, and closing the truck or catering area. All food is prepared in our catering kitchen. No onsite cooking or food preparation is required. 

For catering delivery orders, you will deliver catering orders to customers’ places of business, events, and homes.

Responsibilities for all catering events and deliveries include: 

Communicating with catering kitchen on each catering delivery. 

Ensuring all items in each order are present and accounted for. 

Loading of catering orders into Tamale Boy truck. 

Delivering food to customers. 

Proper planning to ensure on-time delivery of catering orders to customers. 

Monitoring and maintaining required temperature in cargo area of truck.

Ability to adjust the route as needed to accommodate traffic and road construction.

Executing friendly customer service skills when interacting with catering customers. 

Repeatedly moving 10-30 pounds while ascending and descending the Tamale Boy truck.

Salary: $17/Hour

Skills Required:

Experience in food industry preferred but willing to train the right person.

Google Drive, Word, Excel

Valid driver’s license. 

Oregon Food Handler’s Card.

Must be able to work weekends and flexible hours.

Strong communication skills.

Strong work ethic and customer service skills.

Enjoy serving customers and providing the best customer service and food possible.

Physical Requirements:

Consistently required to stand, walk, reach, turn/twist in a repetitive motion.

Must be able to stand and walk both indoors and outdoors for upwards of 5 hours.

Consistently required to reach, push, pull, and grasp.

Consistently lift up to 20 pounds without assistance.

Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Occasionally required to bend, climb, and stoop.
