Engagement and Outreach Student Assistant

ASU Foundation, one of five nonprofit entities that make up ASU Enterprise Partners, is seeking a Student Assistant for our Engagement and Outreach team.

The position offers experience working independently and as part of a greater team. It allows students to gain experience working in an office setting and develop skills in communication, working with data, and donor stewardship. This student assistant position requires being in front of a computer for several hours at a time.

This position will require approximately 15 hours per week - scheduled between 8am and 5pm Monday - Friday. Additional hours may be required for special events.

What you'll do:

  • Data entry in donor database
  • Data management and reporting
  • Donor communication - email, mail, phone, virtual and in-person events
  • Assist with donor mailings, donor impact reports
  • Assist with special projects - Sun Devil Gratitude Week, Endowment Reports, Impact Reports, Sun Devil Giving Day
  • Organize and oversee inventory of supplies
  • Administrative duties - Outlook calendar, internal/external emails, print projects
  • Assist with meetings and/or event arrangements, preparation, clean up for events
  • Assist with donor relations-related activities within platforms/technology around surveys and videos
  • Other duties as assigned

What you'll need:

  • Interest in working with data - entering, manipulating, pulling reports
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office - knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel preferred
  • Experience or interest in donor mailings - welcome packets, donor stewardship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Very organized and able to handle multiple projects
  • Collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, writing, email, Zoom and by phone
  • Ability to drive golf cart for special events or on campus deliveries - training provided
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Foundation and University business and confidential donor information
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties
  • Ability to quickly learn new office programs as needed

Relevant qualifications:

A current student at Arizona State University pursuing a degree in a related field with a willingness to learn and ability to work well with others. Student must be willing to sign and abide by a confidentiality agreement.

Mental demands:

Clarity of focus while juggling projects or deadlines.

Working conditions:

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. May be required to perform tasks in the field within and/or across University campuses. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions. This position may require some early mornings and evenings to accommodate meetings and events. This position currently requires you to work from the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with Monday and Friday optional remote days.

Working equipment:

This position will require an All-In-One desktop computer, desk telephone, and mobile communication device ($30 bi-weekly payroll reimbursement).
