PSR/Medical Assistant Trainee, Full Time

Rate of Pay:  $15.00/hour

 

AMITA Health Medical Group (AHMG)  in conjunction with Oak Point University ( formerly Resurrection University) is providing The Medical Assistant Training Program, a comprehensive, professional curriculum combining class­room training, hands-on laboratory skills development and an externship for real-world experience. The program is designed to develop the wide range of administrative, clinical, and patient care skills needed by a Medical Assistant working in a physician’s office or ambulatory care clinic.

 

Class topics include medical terminology and legal issues in healthcare, human anatomy, taking vital signs, and running lab tests.

 

AHMG is hiring entry level full-time Patient Service Reps who will work at our clinics Mon-Fri in the morning and attend Medical Assistant Training Program in the afternoon.

What You Will Do:

Work in a customer service capacity providing administrative and clerical support to patients and customers in a medical setting.

  • Greet patients and visitors, check patients in and out, and obtain necessary documentation.
  • Verify and enter demographic information.
  • Obtain and verify insurance authorizations/precertification.
  • Complete medical record release requests and schedules/confirms patient appointments.
  • Enter, review and submit charges for patient procedures and services daily.
  • Collect co-payments and reconcile all daily reports and deposits for accuracy.
  • Provide general office and clerical support to assigned area.
