To support the Senior project managers in the delivery of projects by providing high-level planning service for the preparation of a holistic view of all Capita/North Tyneside Council (NTC) Partnership works/schemes and individual project plans, producing baseline scheduled tasks, resource profiles and financial models.

Job Description:

The successful person will beinvolved in improving the consistency, predictability and efficiency of the programmes project delivery capability and provides leadership in best practices and is highly customer-focused - outward and upward and that these are consistent with customer expectations and requirements.

The role will ensure that the operational issues of the Project Controls / PMO are managed, focusing on the project interface with project leaders, project managers, project teams, and interface issues.

What you'll be doing:
Preparation of a holistic and trackable overview of all potential NTC works/schemes and feeding back progress or any issues regularly to the Management Team.
Preparing robust tender and contract programmes using the designated planning tool.
Providing fully resource programmes, produce resource histograms, resource level programmes, understand and communicate the effect on programme schedules to project team.
Incorporating appropriate financial data in the programme to produce a project cost/time distribution profile and communicate the results to the project team.
Displaying and evaluating the project critical path and advise the project team of the results and any appropriate corrective action.
Producing and maintaining project baselines and execute the change control process as appropriate.
Managing and correctly recording all project progress in the programme, reschedule programme to take effect of the progress data and communicate the results to the project team and advise of any appropriate corrective action.
Producing project reports or data directly from the planning software arranging the data to align with the company accounting software.
Understanding and reporting on a project using earned value analysis techniques and interpret/communicate the results and any corrective action to the project team.
Producing programmes that satisfy contractual requirements.
Managing a portfolio of project programmes and supporting planning engineers or junior planning engineers including supervision and checking of work to ensure that all work complies with company standards and procedures.

What we're looking for:

You will have exposure of working as a P6 Planner on multi scheme projects ideally for a Project Management Consultancy.
You will have a construction related degree (civil/structural engineering, or construction/project management or equivalent)
You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated delivery teams.
You have experience of working on large projects/programmes.
You will have a construction or project management background.
