WORK HOURS: Monday – Friday business hours, local travel, flexible off-hours work on weekends and evenings

JOB SUMMARY

The Field Support Engineer III will be a key contributor to continue to improve the delivery of Cybertrol Engineering’s customer support solution. The position will closely collaborate with the existing Support Department and other internal stakeholders to provide direct field support at customer locations in and around the Greater Minneapolis / St. Paul area through incident escalation, training and development, and solution standardization and feedback.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Customer facing
  • Understand the architecture to lay out "how" something gets done correctly or be the main arbiter in times of various design ideas
  • Able to manage own schedule, scope of work and provide time estimates to client
  • Provide technical guidance and work direction to the extended team
  • Ensure alignment between all technical disciplines on a project to achieve its requirements and goals
  • Ensure project deliverables are meeting customer requirements
  • Ensure project deliverables are meeting Cybertrol development and quality standards
  • Control system (PLC, HMI, Etc.) development
  • Specification documentation
  • Troubleshooting (Hardware, Software)
  • Testing (Hardware, Software)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or an Associate’s Degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Requires experience with Rockwell Automation hardware and software
  • Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to forge positive working relationships with a wide variety of people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Cybertrol’s facility: Office desk/cubicle environment. Extensive computer use.
    • Site Visits/Work: 25%
    • Travel to industrial manufacturing facilities.
    • Construction Area site work around construction equipment and personnel.
    • Working around production equipment and production personnel
    • Work in hot or cold areas. Work in noisy areas. Work up and down stairs, ladders, indoors and outdoors.
  1. Electrical/Instrumentation Device Checkout and Troubleshooting. Includes voltage testing.
  2. Working and interfacing with operations, engineering, equipment supply, and construction personnel.
  3. Typical Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) Required: Safety Glasses, Steel Toed shoes, hearing protection, and electrical safety PPE.
  4. Employees must comply with customer specific safety requirements and PPE.
  5. Work may include working weekends, holidays, nightshift, and extended hours to meet deadlines and commissioning requirements.
