We have a part time permanent vacancy for an experienced part qualified Accountant to join our clients expanding team.

You can work 25 hours a week, and do this over 5 or 3 days to suit.

The successful candidate will ideally be AAT qualified or part ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or equivalent. They should have experience of accounts payable, credit control and accounts receivable. We are looking for a confident person with the ability to work independently as well as part of a cohesive team in a busy environment.

Role Requirements:

Accounts day to day processing

* Creating new supplier and contractor accounts and maintaining existing account details.

* Liaising with customers and suppliers and being first point of contact for payment and invoice/application queries.

* Credit control / debt collection

* Reconciliation of supplier accounts and statements to ensure up to date and accurate.

* Bank and finance reconciliation

* Collating and making supplier payment runs.

* Miscellaneous payments

* Processing and verifying sub-contractor payments.

* Making payment applications to customers on projects.

* Placing orders / purchasing

* Inputting purchase invoices / credits

Monthly activities (training to be provided)

* Payroll – monthly salaries, incorporating company pensions, expenses, health care and company car / car allowances.

* Maintaining and updating Company Pension Scheme

* Sales reports

* Assisting with budgets

Compliance activities

* Preparation and submission CIS returns

* Point of contact for HMRC and processing tax returns

* Liaising with external accountant to assist in producing VAT returns, monthly and annual management accounts.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

* AAT Qualified or ACCA/CIMA/ACA PQ or equivalent

* Proficient at reconciling accounts receivable and accounts payable accounts

* Working knowledge of an Accounting package ie Quickbooks or Sage 50 Account software

* Proficient skills in Microsoft Word + Excel, including exporting & working with data

* Ability to work both independently and with the Senior Management Team.

The successful candidate will be conscientious, reliable and trustworthy. Will have a flexible approach to work and be adaptable in new ways of working. Is confident and competent to work unsupervised as well as punctual in attendance and submission of reports.

Salary £25,000 - £30,000 (DOE) pro rata
