Job description: About the Role As an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, you are a key team member in achieving production, safety, and quality objectives to maintain and develop our technological processes on one of our two paper machines on-site. Reporting to the Maintenance Leader, you will be working alongside and collaborating closely with other technicians, process engineers, managers and operators. This is a day-based role working Monday to Fridays, enabling you to get involved in a variety of key electrical and instrumentation work on-site. What You Will Do As the Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, you will have strong troubleshooting skills for technical issues with the ability to problem solve using root cause analysis methodology. Taking accountability for maintaining the machines from an electrical perspective, which will also include some instrumentation focus, you will work on planned, preventative and predictive maintenance projects. Required profile: Who You Are We are looking for you to have the following: Proven experience with PLCs, automation networks and AC/DC drive systems working on large scale machinery Time-served to NVQ 3 or equivalent standard A clear communicator, willing to challenge effectively Able to work with others successfully internally and with external suppliers/contractors. Proven track record of taking responsibility for own work. It would also be helpful (though full training will be given if necessary) if you had experience of Siemens, knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic components, as well as process instrumentation. On site, we have approximately 400 employees, with a mix of apprentices, career entry and experienced staff.
