The Role As an Electrical/Controls Technician, you will operate predominantly in an active and responsive role to ensure the production plant continues to operate in a safe and efficient manner. Typically, you will fault find electrical or control system issues across the whole spectrum of equipment, plant and processes that we have on site, and also, as required, cross over to offer mechanical fitting competencies to support others within the engineering team. Furthermore, at times you will work on pre-planned maintenance activities and process/plant update and modifications. In addition, you will: - Carry out small works activities, which could potentially include equipment replacement, component re-wiring, electrical installation, control panel modifications - Assist with site testing and commissioning of new or modified systems, developed and implemented either by Thatchers Engineering Team or third-party sub-vendors - Be actively involved in the conception and implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives - Co-ordinate and manage third party sub-contractors delivering services such as electrical installations, control panel manufacture, systems integration, building controls and service contracts - Carry out risk assessments and generated method statements for works tasks as required to always ensure safe-working - Co-ordinate sub-contract services as required, reviewing RAMS, and managing PTW About You To be considered as our Electrical/Controls System Engineer, you will need: - Demonstrable experience and expertise of the outlined responsibilities above, in an industrial setting, either in a manufacturing environment orsub-contractor type role - To demonstrate a level of competence with accessing, fault finding and modifying PLC control systems including Rockwell (RSLogix5000) and Siemens PLC (S7 & TIA Portal) Platforms - Competence in configuration and set-up Automation Equipment such as Inverter Drives, Motor Control, Safety Systems, Pneumatics - The ability to fully understand and plan modifications to electrical schematics, pneumatic drawings etc. - Have a flexible approach to working in situations where you may find yourself solely responsible for a particular task or in a team with similar or different trades/disciplines - To be a Team Player with a positive outlook and self-motivated manner, and the ability to liaise effectively with others internal or external to the business - Food & Beverage industry experience would be beneficial but not essential Webrecruit andThatchersare equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
