Kickstart -Trainee Laboratory Operative

Package Description KICKSTART ROLE - PLEASE ONLY APPLY TO THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE BEEN REFERRED BY A JOBCENTRE WORK COACH AND/OR YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE KICKSTART SCHEME. Pay rate: £8.91ph with the opportunity to increase your pay rate to £9.50ph(Ex London) or £10.85ph(London) on completion of 6 weeks employment. Training: During your placement you will participate in a structured training programme covering employability and job related training. You will be supported by a dedicated mentor who will be able to give your career advice and guidance and you will also work towards employability skills including CV writing, interview preparation and looking for work. What you will be doing: Analysis of incoming raw materials Collection and analysis of process samples Sample preparation Performing periodic checks on equipment/machinery within the Lab Compilation of Laboratory reports when required Operating machinery and equipment, only when trained To provide resource to other departments in terms of material testing Conducting appropriate checks on machinery/equipment, reporting any errors/issues immediately to you supervisor Clean down of equipment after use Any operations involving chemicals, to be performed only when trained to do so About you: Basic excel skills would be an advantage Who we are?
