Product Manager

I am delighted to be working exclusively with a major Automotive supplier based in West Yorkshire, who have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Product Manager to join their highly skilled team in Category & Product Management. Reporting to the Product Director you will be the Category expert, identifying market trends and patterns, with an excellent understanding of customer and end user requirements. You will have accountability for your own product groups with responsibility of achieving financial KPI's, category growth and driving product innovation by collaborating with key suppliers. The role will also require someone who has the technical skills to assist in resolving product issues as well as always looking to improve product quality. Key Responsibilities; Responsible for on time delivery of new product development and seeing this through to product launch by working cross functionally with other departments Ensuring excellent quality and competitive cost of new products whilst maximising margins and sales potential Re-develop existing products to improve performance, quality and packaging Carrying out relative market research to maintain up to date with market trends and buying patterns Form excellent working relationship with key suppliers/vendors to maximise opportunities on product innovation, reduced lead times and competitive pricing Collaborating with the broader business for the development and implementation of go-to-market strategies for products. Ensure key mile stones are in place with strict time scales to manage NPD projects efficiently Present management with regular reports to outline progress across product groups. Assist with Exhibitions and trade shows where necessary Skills & Experience required; Ideally Degree educated in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related courses A minimum of four years' experience within technical product development Successful track record in Product Management, working within a fast paced, demanding industry Excellent communication skills with ability to form strong working relationships with both customers and vendors Demonstrable past experience of successful management of products, definition and launch Strong stakeholder management skills Evidence of creation of successful commercial business cases and using this to help prioritise product development decisions.
