Job Summary Moog Aircraft Group is looking for anexperienced Quality Inspector to join the Quality Systems team at our facility based in Tewkesbury.At Moog we're focused on the customer and for us this means designing complex mechanical products that are often bespoke and high profile. Our team works to exceptionally close tolerances, an essential requirement of the aerospace industry. The Quality Inspector will report into the Quality Systems and Control manager. Within the role youll be involved with general inspection of parts both manufactured onsite and offsite, to include First Article inspection and sample inspections of components in production. The Quality Inspector will use a wide variety of gauges and sophisticated measuring equipment (CMM, Roundness machine, Surface Analyser, Moulding/Shadowgraph etc.). In addition, the Quality Inspector may provide assistance to the business (in particular Engineering disciplines) to assist in problem solving activities, engineering investigations, and corrective action determination. The incumbent must have broad knowledge of inspection across high precision aerospace components (machined parts). Key Skills: Apprentice trained (or equivalent level of qualification) ideally within Mechanical Engineering is preferred. In lieu of an apprenticeship we welcome applications from individuals with equivalent GCSE or A Level Study, providing you can demonstrate considerable experience in the operation of precision machines in a manufacturing/fabrication environment. Must have Inspection knowledge and experienced in the use of a wide variety of gauges and sophisticated measuring equipment (CMM, Roundness machine, Surface Analyser, Moulding/Shadowgraph etc.) It is essential to be able to interpret complex machined part engineering drawings, processes and procedures. Familiar with AS9102 First Article Reporting is required. Knowledge of VisualFAIR software would be a distinct advantage. Must have experience of working with Quality Systems and a sound knowledge of ISO9000 & Inspection sampling plans Applicants must have experience of operating CMM machines with low-level programming experience. Ideally this will be using the Mitutoyo Cosmos and/or Aberlinksoftware, however we are able to provide training for the right individual.
