Group Data Protection Officer – The Role:

The Group Data Protection Officer will be the main point of contact across the business for any queries related to Data Protection, GDPR and privacy across the UK, Malta and EU. The role will oversee Trust Payments own data sets, as well as providing support to securely holding secure customer data from a broad range of industries.

Group Data Protection Officer - Key Responsibilities:

- Act as the subject matter expert for all UK, Malta and EU Data Protection queries, ensuring Trust Payments adheres to all privacy laws

- Take the lead in all issues and matters relating to GDPR

- Shall inform and advise the respective subsidiary of the Group of its rights, obligations and responsibilities pursuant to any Applicable Laws and Regulations

- Implement process to ensure all information across the group is held in compliance with current and proposed Data Protection legislation and policies across all Trust Payments jurisdictions

- The DPO will act as the formal point of contact with Malta IDPC and UK equivalent

- Generate policy and procedures that meet Data Protection and Privacy laws standards in relation to FCA and MFSA regulations

- Act as the lead contact for all Trust Payments jurisdictions ICO data protection queries and investigations

- Manage all inquiries relating to data protection practices, withdrawal of consent, the right to be forgotten and all related privacy issues

- Ensure data sets containing personal information are managed and have effective controls in place

- Shall require that Trust Payments is to maintain a register in which the processing activities, that the Group implements shall be recorded and contain all information required in terms of any Applicable Laws or Regulations

- Shall provide advice when requested with regards to the Data Protection impact assessment (DPIA) and monitor its performance as required by the applicable laws

Group Data Protection Officer – You:

- Demonstrable experience leading and implementing data protection in an FCA or MFSA licensed business

- Degree or equivalent work experience in a DPO role

- Professional data protection qualifications

- Previous experience in B2B environment with large client data sets for marketing purposes

- Proven track record in supporting large scale transformation related to GDPR

- Experience working in a matrix organisation

- Expert knowledge and application of compliance within UK, Malta and EU Data Protection (GDPR) and privacy laws

- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate at C-Level

- Takes a pragmatic approach to data privacy

- Strong problem solver and relationship builder
