Continuation Engineer

Position Summary

The continuation engineer is vital to the bringup and verification phases of the design process for Trenton Systems' electrical engineering team. Typical duties include schematic analysis, component datasheet review, initial board bringup, testing, and verification of cutting-edge, latest generation computing products in a state-of-the art lab. This role also interfaces with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, including electrical, mechanical, and software teams. As part of highly efficient and technically proficient team, the continuation engineer is expected to support multiple projects and various validation efforts, often changing on a day to day basis.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working with both hardware and software designers to implement initial bring up and verification of new designs.
  • Verify signal integrity and margining for high speed digital interfaces – USB, PCIe, DisplayPort, HDMI, DDR, SPI/I2C/UART.
  • Write ECOs for modifications of prototypes as needed.
  • Support all aspects of engineering from design through technical support, and other duties as assigned. Employee will strive to satisfy the needs of customers assisting where possible with on time delivery and continuous improvement in quality of products and services and manage risk.
. Requirements:

Required

  • BS in electrical, electronic, or computer engineering or equivalent, including experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in engineering design, support, or test capacity
  • Familiarity with multiple aspects of engineering, including design, problem analysis, and technical support
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and various other lab equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer system architecture and components thereof
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various departments within a corporation, as well as with customers

Desired

  • High speed digital and analog measurement experience.
  • Computer architecture background, including x86, ARM, etc.
  • Experience with high speed interconnect – USB, DisplayPort, PCIe gen 5 (and higher), DDR3/4/5.
