Quality Coordinator Registered Nurse

Full-Time Days 

Under the supervision of the AVP for Clinical Excellence, maintains databases to support quality initiatives such as CHOIS, Qlikview, SHARP, and NDNQI. Regularly updates hospital quality dashboard and support other departments in ongoing efforts to promote consistency of quality data/ metrics. Serves as the Compliance 360 site administrator. Performs data monitoring functions such as surgical case / blood utilization review audit and other assigned data collection functions.  Recognizes variations from criteria and communicates with a variety of clinical disciplines to clarify/justify the variation.  Assists in committee work to include design, execution, analysis and reporting of focused and ongoing performance improvement initiatives; review agenda and resource preparation for Quality Council and Policy committee meetings, minute taking. Performs assessment of compliance with TJC Performance Improvement standards and standards of practice; assists in implementation of corrective action for non-compliance.  Consults with the clinical and non-clinical departments and collaborate on the development of Performance Improvement program, assess compliance with standards and assist with corrective action as needed. Collaborates with department directors & service line coordinators to produce dashboards and discuss possible methods for process improvement (PI) through a PDSA model.

Medical City North Hills is licensed for 164 beds, has over 300 physicians and 30 medical specialties. The ER has about 39,000 visits each year and is a Level III Trauma Center. Additionally, we are a Primary Stroke Center, perform spine surgery and joint replacements and have a comprehensive cardiovascular services department. Our hospital is an accredited Cycle 5 Chest Pain Center with a cardiac rehabilitation program.

Bachelor’s degree in nursing required (BSN) 


Minimum of one-year experience in Performance Improvement activities in acute care health setting strongly preferred


 Specific Requirements:

A.  Possess the ability to deal tactfully with medical staff members, hospital personnel, state, local and federal agency personnel as well as other members of the health care team.

B.  Knowledgeable of local, state and federal regulations pertaining to federally funded programs as they related to utilization review, discharge planning and financial reimbursement.

C.  Possess the ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

D.  Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

E.  Possess innovative problem solving abilities.

F.  Must be highly analytical, logical and organized in approaching tasks.
