The Business Simplification Group is a dynamic strategic organization at the forefront of the Citi Transformation efforts. We act as a catalyst across businesses and functions driving the transformation of Citi into a simpler, customer-centric organization. We are responsible for partnering with business lines and functions to establish the framework for and execute the simplification program, which includes developing enterprise-wide domain taxonomies, publishing standard playbooks and procedures, as well as creating process and design engineering models. We also provide the businesses and functions with ongoing governance, program oversight, and metrics and reporting to ensure consistency, control, and accountability as it relates to the program. The Business Risk Control and Compliance Analyst is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas. Prior experience as an in-business Compliance Officer or similar Compliance experience is required for this role.


  • Assist the Business in key policy adherence and monitoring.
  • Keep Management aware of the Compliance and Risk control environment of the Business through continuous and open communication, by preparing and hosting Business Risk Committee meetings with Senior Management to present and follow-up on issues, concerns, and corrective action plans.
  • The role requires a significant amount of coordination and control oversight across the different functional areas within the BSG operations
  • Determine the applicability of new and updated Citi Policies to BSG and work with management and   risk officers to ensure appropriate controls are in place
  • Create and oversee existing management reporting including monthly operating reports, operational loss reporting and monthly reporting packages for Senior EI and BSG management (e.g., Risk and Control Management Committee reporting).
  • The role requires knowledge of the project management discipline and structure to help manage project milestones, status updates, as well as any existing or potential escalation issues, and will include the creation, gathering, reporting, trend analysis, communication, and other requirements associated with the project management book of work.
  • Provide support and oversight to BSG for key compliance and regulatory project requirements
  • Support and maintain the Manager Control Assessment (MCA) Development and Testing including contributing to Compliance specific work streams to incude reporting results to Senior Management
  • Must have first hand knowledge of CitiRisk and mapping of existing issues
  • Work with business to ensure internal and external audit preparedness, coordination of audit fieldwork, providing support throughout execution and closing.
  • Assist with reporting of corrective actions, including advising on development of appropriate and timely action plans, monitoring of significant issues with management and validation of action plans to ensure proper closure.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


  • 7+ Years of Compliance and control, Compliance or Internal/External Audit experience preferred.
  • Strong Communication Skills.
  • Ability to partner and work collaboratively with multiple groups, developing productive and trusted relationships with business managers and Control team colleagues both regionally and globally.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills - able to identify and understand issues, root cause, problems, and opportunities, and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to communicate effectively and constructively at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-starter, positive, energetic, and able to prioritize appropriately and act independently.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities: to enable to effectively manage multiple tasks, consistently operating at high standards of quality and accuracy within required


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
