Business Services Professional/ Retention Specialist

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The person in this position establishes relations with local businesses and industries for the purpose of identifying employment opportunities for the participant’s assignment by the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act Program. The person also provides retention support services and follow-up to the employed participant through job placement. This position is under the general guidance and supervision of the Business Services Professional Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Identify job openings in the local job market and maintain job bank for participants to use
  • Conduct work place contact at scheduled intervals to verify continuity and secure job verification
  • Conduct FCA hiring events and information sessions as directed
  • Develop a retention strategy that will increase and monitor attendance and participation of W.I.O.A. participants
  • Develop and implement a tracking system that will continuously monitor FCA applicants progress in the hiring process
  • Obtain certification as a Business Services Professional
  • Must meet agency productivity/performance standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Services or related field
  • Two years of Work Force Development experience preferred
  • Knowledge of business and industry opportunities in the local market
  • Valid MI license and meet agency’s insurance company’s standards for coverage

SALARY: Commensurate with Experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,210.00 - $50,669.00 per year
