Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the GBSD program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What you'll get to do:

Work on the WS accuracy team in definition and development of WS accuracy MS&A working cross the IPTs to develop and deliver an integrated WS accuracy solution through design, assessment, to WS validation. Conduct system-level modeling and analysis: develop and integrate physics based models and simulations for mission and system performance assessments. Requires an understanding of model verification and validation and analysis validation and verification. Solid analysis experience with a focus in physics based performance modeling, model maturation, and analysis requirement definition and model verification and validation. Requires cross team coordination, cross IPT and mission/system thinker.

Roll requires strong, open communicator with systems and mission engineering emphasis with specific interest/experience in system performance, modeling, simulation, and analysis. Preferred candidate will have experience with ICBM preflight and post-flight performance analysis, ICBM accuracy model and tool development, accuracy model validation, and developing accuracy analysis documentation. Experience with system verification via analysis, accuracy error phenomenology, and ability to work across multiple disciplines and classification environments are desired. Strong working knowledge of MatLab, Python, C++ is also key.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 14 years of related work experience or a Masters Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 12 years of related work experience. 9 years of related work experience with an PhD
  • 5+ years experience developing tools to assess missile system accuracy and performance
  • 5+ years experience performing missile system accuracy and performance assessments
  • Experience creating, updating, and maintaining system performance documentation
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • 7+ years ICBM experience
  • ICBM accuracy modeling and analysis experience
  • ICBM preflight and post-flight performance analysis experience
  • Experience developing models and tools used for ICBM accuracy analysis
  • Experience with ICBM flight code and algorithms

Salary Range: 134400 - 168000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
