*What You ll Do*
As a *Quality Engineer*, you ll be part of our Engineered Fastening team located in Lakewood, OH. You ll get to:
* The Quality Engineer will be primarily responsible for driving continuous improvement through the elimination of defects that create waste in our process and may result in customer disruption and dissatisfaction.
* Critical to success in this position is the ability to champion the team response to customer problems, including containment, customer interaction, root cause analysis, and the implementation of effective permanent corrective actions.
* Our Quality Engineers are responsible for the review and disposition of non-conforming material, control plan development, and the optimization of process controls, including SPC.
* The QE perpetually seeks to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes through their participation and leadership in the following areas:
* APQP & PPAP
* Layered Process Audits
* Sub-Supplier development
* Quality Management System (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100D)
* Customer audits/visits and third-party audits
* Lean manufacturing principles and methods
* Proactive risk reduction through rigorous FMEA and Control Plan development
* Gauge and fixture evaluation (MSA, Gage R&R, SPC)

* Bachelor s Degree in Engineering or other related technical field.
* Minimum five (5) years experience in automotive quality assurance with emphasis in the application of core tools - APQP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, and PPAP.
* Experience with fasteners is preferred but not required.
* ASE and/or Six Sigma Certification is preferred but not required.
* Ability to demonstrate leadership potential through a strong data focus and results orientation and exceptional problem solving.
* Strong organizational and project management skills as well as superior communication and presentation skills.
* Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite of products.
* Occasional travel to customers and suppliers is necessary to ensure positive outcomes.
