Special Inspector IIPosition Highlights:If you are an experienced inspector looking to join a dedicated and professional construction services team, this position is for you. As a Special Inspector II, you will be involved in a variety of exciting projects in the Triangle and Eastern North Carolina. You will be spending most of your time outside at project sites performing Special Inspections and Construction Materials Testing while interacting with the contractors and clients daily.   • In this position you will perform field inspections and testing of structural elements. Primary responsibilities typically include the inspection and testing of Reinforced Concrete/Grout/Mortar, Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Material (SFRM), Wood, and Foundations.
  • Tell the story. All of our hard work is for naught if we don’t present it all in an orderly, concise manner - hence the importance of our reports and other deliverables. In this position you will prepare detailed daily reports describing the inspections and testing performed for that day.
  • In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to work both independently and in a team with other inspectors and technicians. In fact, the ideal candidate for this position will step up and be a leader of his/her peers.

  • This position requires some local travel, with infrequent overnight stays (~5%-15%).
Position Qualifications:
  • Five years or greater of progressive testing and/or inspection experience
    • Engineering Interns (EI) may be eligible for this position upon completion of two years of relevant experience
  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) diploma.
  • Certifications/Licenses:
    • NCDOT and American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Technician Level I certification
    • International Code Council (ICC) Reinforced Concrete certification
    • International Code Council (ICC) Structural Masonry certification
    • International Code Council (ICC) Spray-applied Fireproofing certification
    • Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
