Salary range: $120,000-$125,000 annually

What you would be doing

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for ensuring that company goals and objectives are achieved in their assigned service delivery area, as well as conducting, leading, managing, and evaluating medical services to ensure that contractual obligations and client expectations are met. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for ensuring all medical services are compliant with all legal and licensure requirements and all professional medical standards.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible, in a collaborative practice model with supervising physician, nursing staff, and clinical staff, for the medication management of assigned clients.
  • Conducts psychiatric/medication evaluations, medication reviews, and ongoing treatment for clients.
  • Prescribes medications as indicated and appropriate within the scope of their practice.
  • Ensures appropriate hospitalizations (voluntary and involuntary) of their clients as indicated.
  • Responds to emergency situations as necessary.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely documentation of psychiatric assessments, med/somatic progress notes and treatment plans, medication consent forms, medication orders, and managed care outpatient treatment reports.
  • Consults with clinical staff regarding treatment issues as appropriate.
  • Signs and co-signs appropriate billing documents and treatment plans.
  • Participates actively in clinic team meetings.
  • Provides consultation and education to internal and external customers as appropriate.

This job generally operates in an office and clinical environment but may also require remote work as necessary

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires intermittent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching as well as lifting and supporting patients.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This schedule may change daily depending upon the operation, with evening and weekend work required as job duties demand.

Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be licensed to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, or Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, and have a Certificate to Prescribe in the State of Ohio.
  • Must have relevant professional experience working with a variety of mental health conditions.
  • Must be able to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with a variety of audiences and be willing to represent the organization within the medical/health-care community.
  • Must be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care principles preferred.
  • Knowledge of skills to work with youth/adults with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disorders preferred.
