The Assistant Teacher is responsible for the general supervision and assistance of the head teacher of classes for children 2 years 8 months to 5 years.

About Our Program:

  • Operating in Central Connecticut for more than 40 years, we are a state-licensed facility offering a combination of preschool programming and daycare services for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years. Before and after school care is also available.

About this position:

  • The Assistant Teacher reports to the Program Director and is responsible for assisting within the classroom as an aid to the head teacher.
  • Social-emotional Learning: modeling how to treat all people with respect and dignity and helping children become aware of their roles as integral members of a group.
  • Classroom Maintenance: helping to create an orderly arrangement, appearance, décor and learning environment of the classroom.
  • Parent Engagement: Interacting with parents and helping the head teacher give reports on each child's day.
  • Other: Attending meetings and conferences of professional organizations appropriate for nursery early learning educators.
  • This is a full-time (40 hrs/wk) non-exempt, year-round position, with an hourly pay range of $14-$16 per hour based on qualifications and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
