Enterprise Market Risk Technology (ERMT) department provides world class business solutions to support Corporate and LOB Market Risk teams.  The ERMT group works with its business partners in identification, measurement, aggregation and reporting of Market Risk across the firm.  The group works closely with the lines of business to ensure that risks are being appropriately managed within the defined risk appetite for the firm.  Market risk activities include market risk, counterparty credit risk, issuer risk, country risk and liquidity risk.  The Market Risk systems perform valuation, simulation, aggregation and reporting of risk metrics and models on all simple (bonds) and complex (structured products, derivatives) securities products.  Team members will work with advanced mathematical models, theoretical pricing, statistical and stochastic models, VaR (Value at Risk), and stress.  The Market Risk systems are comprised of intraday and overnight batch processes that handle staging for all trading position data and market data required for risk modeling as well as making this data available to the various risk valuation systems. Quantitative models and reporting support trading activities as well as regulatory and business reporting requirements.

The open position is a Software Engineer. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Have advanced Object Oriented development skills in order to create Java code that can be easily maintained and extended to meet the growing demands.  
  • Lead and own GUI and API automation work. 
  • Design and maintain Automation frameworks. 
  • Knowledge of API testing, Rest and Soap.
  • Make sure the rest of the teams have the tools to create automated tests in a structured way. 
  • Explain and teach basic coding standards for more junior members of the team. 
  • Perform manual testing to understand features and architecture of our products. 
  • Prepare Reusable functions, which improve the robustness, re-usability, and maintainability of their test scripts.
  • The framework should be designed in such a way that it increases and speeds up their productivity.
  • The engineer also must support the framework/s, for example, supporting dev/qa with issues using the tool. The engineer will implement automation test scripts. Integration with the test management tool is also, planned.
  • The Test Automation Engineer must be able to take on leadership responsibilities and influence the direction of the automation effort, and its schedule and prioritization.
  • The engineer will work with management, developers, and quality assurance personnel, to meet these goals.
  • Additionally the Test Automation Engineer will also be involved in supporting  and iplement/improve build test processes, environments, and scripts. These build tests ensure that the code drops to quality assurance are of the highest quality.
  • Provide a practical approach to complex product testing, specifically in the areas of the automation of test cases for the purposes of regression testing. Be creative and proactive thinker and make use of current technologies to provide extensible automation infrastructures.
  • Review product requirements, functional and design specifications to determine and prepare automated test cases.
  • He will work closely with various Dev team members to understand testing objectives and ensure that problems are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Be part of a team focusing on automation of an identified set of migration tests, checking they run correctly and working within the infrastructure. The team would focus on develop and test these automation buckets which would be executed by other teams. 
  • Log, track, and verify resolution of software and specification defects.   
  • Document all phases of the Agile process.  
  • Direct and serve as a mentor to less experienced staff.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • 5+ years of batch testing experience
  • 3+ years of experience testing web-based applications developed in Java or .NET framework
  • 3+ years of implementing test automation using Selenium, web services or SQL

Desired Qualifications

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 4+ years of QTP, UFT or WinRunner experience
  • 4 + years of experience with System Integration Testing (SIT)
  • Agile experience
  • 1+ year of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
  • 1+ year of Java experience
  • 4+ years of SQL experience
  • 5+ years of Object Oriented Design (OOD) experience
  • 4+ years of testing or quality assurance experience
