The position of Inventory Analyst is within our Cardiometabolic business unit located at Alere San Diego in San Diego, California. This role is responsible for monitoring and improving warehouse and Supply Chain performance through implementing effective analytical tools and processes. 


  • Perform inventory analysis and management to avoid low and excess stock
  • Determine appropriate measures for warehouse performance and report as required
  • Drive root cause analysis with warehouse teams when performance is below target
  • Design, develop and implement tools to analyze current & projected performance and outline data driven opportunities for performance improvement
  • Develop automated reporting capability that provide real time performance visibility
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Quality and Customer Service to ensure data tools meet business needs
  • Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job; has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification and validation, manufacturing and testing activities
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships
  • Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies
  • Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business



  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.


  • ERP knowledge preferably SAP and/or JDE
  • Advanced knowledge of MS-Office particularly Excel
  • Proficiency with multiple analytical tools such as Alteryx and Power BI
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills necessary required to lead process changes
  • Ability to influence cross functionally across a globally dispersed team
