Quality Engineer

We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer in West Haven, CT. Your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to:

Responsible for maintenance and improvement of Quality Management System in accordance to ISO9001.
Audit unit & assemblies at various stages of completion (receiving, inprocess, and final inspections) to specifications and performance.
Audit processes to ensure the methods/procedures were followed. Communicates significant quality related issues to all departments of the organization and provides input on whether to accept the product and recommends process improvements.
Tracks root causes to quality related problems and coordinates corrective actions, monitors defect reduction programs and reviews effectiveness of systems and procedures.
Analyze failures and corrective and preventive actions in response to customer complaints.
Supports and maintains QA data and management systems.
Work with Process Engineering giving input on documentation related to product quality, such as test procedure and work instructions.
Conducts quality related training with employees.
Coordinates appropriate inspections and control plans for manufacturing operations
Enters customer data into various databases and reports
Help prepare and submit PPAP documents to customers review and approve FAI reports from suppliers for new products and components.
Checks engineering drawings and specifications for standard products, contracted products, and purchased items for quality inspections
Auditing components received by suppliers
Evaluate & prepare non-conforming materials and reports
Interpret blueprints and inspect components received by providers
Conduct process capability studies.


Degree in Engineering or Science
At least 3 years of QA Engineering experience
Knowledge of ISO 9000 quality management system
Familiar with EHS or OSHA preferred
