Extrusion Machine Operator

Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, located in Monroe, NC, is looking for Extrusion Operators with a proven track record to join our team.

Summary: Extrusion Operator is responsible for running extrusion machines, packing and moving pipe to storage location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Starting up extruder, monitoring material flow, making adjustments to extruder and downstream equipment as needed.
  • Inspecting and identifying poor quality pipe using micrometer, pie tape, etc.
  • Packing pipe per standards with strapping tool, weighing pipe and moving to designated storage area with forklift.
  • Keeping work area up to 5S housekeeping standards including operating sweeper as necessary.
  • Responsible for performing minor repairs on pipe racks, printers, etc.
  • Assisting set-up instructor as necessary.
  • Assisting Tool & Die and Maintenance personnel in repair of equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to work 12 hour, night shift
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Submit to and successfully complete background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Computer and mechanical ability preferred
