Job Description

Busy ophthalmology practice in Easton, MD is seeking a Full Time technician to join our practice. Candidates must work well under pressure, have a strong work ethic and be a team player. 1-2 years’ experience preferred as an ophthalmic technician or medical assistant.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong computer literacy and background working with electronic medical records
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and regulations
  • 1-2 years of ophthalmic technician, optician OR medical assistant experience

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient work-ups by inputting medical data into the EMR, Manifest Refractions, slit lamp and administer eye medications.
  • Perform vision testing including: Visual Field, A-Scan, OCT, IOL, Auto-Refractor and conduct contact lens fittings.
  • Maintain a smooth clinical flow
  • Assist physician with procedures
  • Provide support to the front desk staff by returning patient phone calls, managing prescription refills and scheduling appointments.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma; some college preferred
  • 1-2 years of ophthalmic technician, optician OR medical assistant experience

Pay: $35,000.00 - $52,773.00 per year
