Job Description

The Construction Manager (CM) is responsible for construction and maintenance of the company’s facilities and being the steward for all capital investments. Particularly, working with the CEO and a GC, the CM will oversee the design, multi-stage construction and startup of the company’s new greenfield production, distribution and office facility and the migration to the new facility from the company’s existing facilities. The new facility will be in Wadsworth IL.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Construction planning and cost estimation
  • Selection and management of construction contractors, including contract administration
  • Overseeing maintenance of all facilities and equipment
  • Acting as chief safety and security officer
  • Lead trainer in the company for project management skills

The position reports to the CEO.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 10 years of experience in construction
  • 5 years of experience in construction management, especially commercial and industrial construction
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of coworkers, from front line to executives.
  • Personal experience in and commitment to quality and continuous improvement initiatives highly desirable
  • Enthusiastic user of data management and communications tools
  • Experience leading an automation initiative is desirable
  • Will relish the openness and quick decision-making of a privately-held business

The position requires working at the company’s facilities, including the greenfield site in Lake County, IL, the main Evanston office and at nearby production and distribution facilities.

Physical Requirements: Able to bend, stretch, and reach with unrestricted motion. Able to remain on sit or stand for long periods of time. Can lift 20 pounds or more.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
