Assistant Team Leader Trainee - Bridge Inspection

AI Engineers’ New York City office has an immediate opening for an Assistant Team Leader Trainee to assist with NYSDOT Bridge Inspection projects in Kings and Richmond counties.


* Valid US Driver's License and clean driving record

  • Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, or other related field


  • 18 months of bridge experience in design, construction, inspection, or other bridge related work

Please Note: Due to NYSDOT's specific requirements, we cannot consider candidates for this position that exceed the qualifications listed above (i.e. candidates with Bachelor's or Master's Degree).


The Assistant Team Leader Trainee will assist with performing National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) bridge inspections, sign structure inspections, and structural load ratings. This position will provide direct training and guidance from a Sr. Team Leader or Sr. Assistant Team Leader, as well as hands on experience. The goal of this position is to meet the qualifications of an Assistant Team Leader after a 24 month training period. The successful candidate must also possess a valid driver’s license.

This includes Drone Inspections, laser scanning and point-cloud mapping of large, complex structures, and the procurement and installation of sophisticated wireless (5G) bridge movement and monitoring devices.
