Art Organization Intern

About Art In FLUX
Art In FLUX creates opportunities for artists and makes the arts more accessible in underserved communities. Art In FLUX launched as a series of Pop-Up Art Galleries in Spring 2012 and since then has popped up in empty retail spaces, on the streets, in restaurants, schools and lobbies bringing art closer to the community and connecting art patrons to the diverse group of artists in Harlem. Art In FLUX brings art into the center of the community where people walk to work and school, shop and dine, creating a positive use for vacant retail locations and stimulating the neighborhood by merging art, commerce and community.

What began as a local initiative has since grown to include an annual art fair. FLUX Art Fair is held each May to coincide with FRIEZE Art Fair on Randall’s Island and an international art week in New York. In 2016 FLUX Art Fair is presenting all Public Art Projects in Harlem Parks and Boulevards for the month of May in collaboration with NYC Parks, NYC Department of Transportation and Marcus Garvey Park Alliance.

The ideal candidate is interested in pursuing a career in the arts and/or in the intersection of urban development and the arts.
