Accounts Payable/Administrative Assistant

We are a mid-size non-profit organization and have been in Southwest Houston for over 60 years in the South Braeswood and 610 West Loop area. The right person for the job must be proficient in, Word, Excel, and some knowledge in Fundware would be helpful. Experience in accounting is a must. Additional responsibilities includes administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer. Good work ethics is a must as you will be working independently without constant direction.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Entire process of accounts payable from receiving invoices to issuing checks & filing
  • Account reconciliations & month end closing
  • Journal entries
  • Audit & tax return schedule preparations and assistance
  • Maintains Outlook calendar & scheduling of appointments
  • Interact with the Lay Leaders of the community
  • Coordinate meetings between CFO and different committees
  • Make any necessary travel arrangements for conferences and meetings
  • Performs and assists with related special projects and other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities :
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience :

  • Some college preferred but solid experience may substitute
  • Minimum of 5 years experience
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive and strong ability to multi-task
  • Relational Data Base skills helpful

Must be able to pass a background and credit check
