Manufacturing Team Supervisor

Manufacturing Team Supervisoris responsible for overseeing manufacturing personnel, production safety, and all aspects of manufacturing in a team environment

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels on each shift.

  • Ensure that employees comply with all Health, Safety, and Regulatory programs.

  • Responsible for time & attendance, completing performance/competency evaluations, competency/training logs, providing feedback, motivation, and disciplinary actions for employees in the assigned department(s).

  • Measure and maintain the output of each shift by Performance to standard, Machine Utilization, Defect percentage, and Net efficiency performance.

  • Visual inspection of manufactured parts.

  • Support to enforce all company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure minimal amounts of scrap, bulk, and non-conforming product are being produced.

  • Maintain employee training records, competency logs, and job descriptions for assigned employees.

  • Maintain IATF16949/ISO14001 documentation for the production floor.

  • Ensure employees have proper training and follow-up training as needed.

  • Develop and promote continuous improvement projects within the shift and assist such efforts throughout the organization.

  • Report and follow proper procedures for all plant accidents and ensure all proper documentation is completed in legal time frames.

  • Use the Process Monitoring System (Mattec) to properly enter all downtime and scrap codes correctly for future analysis.

  • Assist in maintaining company'sIATF16949/ISO14001 certification by supporting corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation

  • Randomly verify that team members are completing box, bag, and water checks and documentation appropriately.

  • Assist cell members with answering machine and auxiliary equipment alarms, changing bags, training co-workers on troubleshooting of problems, and/or calling support department personnel for assistance.

  • Assist in proper utilization of the MATTEC system.

  • Assist in other areas of production as needed.

  • Assure machines and equipment are kept clean.

  • Oversee the general housekeeping of the production areas and that supplies are in the appropriate places.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Required Personal Protective Equipment * safety shoes are to be worn at all times during your scheduled work hours. * Department manager/supervisor will cover additional PPE as required on department-specific work instructions.

  • All employees entering the manufacturing area and other identified locations must wear the designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Wearing your Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a condition of employment

  • Lead, motivate, and train assigned employees.

  • Follow and implement production schedule.

  • Utilize measuring and information systems.

  • Scheduling and staffing.

  • Knowledge in QS9000/IATF16949 & ISO14000.

  • Forklift certified

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.

  • 2+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must have valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, along with adequate auto insurance.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Good communication skills, oral and written.

  • Good problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs.

  • Ability to work other shifts/weekends as necessary.

  • Advanced knowledge of plastic injection molding preferred.

  • Ability to inspect production for quality defects.

  • Prior forklift experience, preferred.
