Successful, benchmarking manufacturer has an opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer to join their engineering team. The Electrical Project Engineer will report to the site Engineering Manager.   Daily duties will include:
  • Completing cost analysis, justification, specification and procurement of capital projects
  • Overseeing multiple projects at a time and managing timelines and budgets for the projects
  • Becoming an electrical and PLC expert for projects within the facility 
  • Programming and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs 
  • Partnering with team members to complete continuous improvement activities and troubleshooting 
  • Completing documentation on project status 
  • Working within a team of engineers, acting as the electrical expert, to complete capital projects 
  • Drawing, designing and reviewing control panels and wire layout 
  • Partnering with production and process engineering to maximize equipment efficiencies and reduce scrap rates
  • Other duties as assigned by management
This position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 50% of their time.  Candidates should have strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, be able to build rapport with the hourly workforce and have good work history.  The average work week will spend 75% of the time on project management and 25% of the time working on process improvements and troubleshooting.

Requirements for the Electrical Project Engineer:
1. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical field
2. Minimum of five years in a similar electrical project engineering position
3. Experience programming and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs
4. Experience working in high-volume manufacturing, machine builder (OEM) or integrator environments 
5. Experience overseeing capital equipment project timelines 
6. Experience with AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling 
7. Experience with panel design 
8. Experience making process improvements, including improving uptime, increasing throughput and/or reducing scrap
9. Microsoft Office, including MS Excel 

Skills preferred, but not required:
1. Microsoft Project 
2. Budget management experience 
3. High voltage experience 
4. Experience with HMIs, VFDs and Servos 
5. Maintenance background 
6. P&ID experience
