Solutions Architect, Data

Overview

The Solutions Architect, Data is responsible for the overall direction, standards and performance of enterprise architecture domains, including Application, Information, Data and Security with emphasis in the Information and Data domains.  They also participate in support of solution development, Enterprise Architecture governance, and Enterprise Architecture planning processes.



Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards
  • Support the development and implementation of the IT Enterprise Architecture roadmap
  • Translate business priorities into IT architecture requirements for each respective Enterprise Architecture domain
  • Understand as-is architectures and the implications of the architecture requirements on current and future architectures
  • Define, document and maintain to-be domain architectures applying architecture guiding principles
  • Augment architecture guiding principles
  • Collaborate with domain architects to develop architecture roadmaps for all architecture domains
  • Identify architecture gaps and inefficiencies and provide recommendations for improvements and alignment
  • Assist in identification and development of new Enterprise Architecture assets, standards and frameworks
  • Research industry-wide architecture and technology trends for the respective domain and present relevant point-of-views
  • Review project architectures for compliance with enterprise standards as part of the Architecture Review Committee and make domain-specific recommendations
  • Design and define overall data capability architecture to meet current and future business needs, and establish solution vision
  • Build an innovative ecosystem to bring forward new ways of thinking around data to improve business outcomes
  • Accountable for driving strategies for key foundational data capabilities (e.g. master data management, data quality, metadata management)
  • Participate in collaborative partnership with data strategy champions to support driving Enterprise data strategy for Data in the cloud, Data as a product, and Machine Learning and Analytics
  • Accountable for the development of data management reference architectures, capability roadmaps, and non-functional requirements
  • Accountable for the development and governance of data principles, policies, and standards
  • Identify the data assets that are deemed significant to the enterprise, as determined by the business impact, decision impact, risk mitigation or organizational impact of the information
  • Assist business areas in the analysis of innovative data technologies and methodologies to determine how they impact the broader technology architecture
  • Partner with the business to enable Data owners and stewards to identify data improvement opportunities
  • Other job duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters degree or multiple certifications preferred 
  • 10+ years progressive work experience, to include some experience in any of the architectural domains, preferably in Information & Data
  • 7+ years’ experience architecting and delivering solutions across multiple architectural domains

Physical Requirements: This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary. 10-20% of travel is required.
