Electro/Mechanical Engineer

Job Title:   Electro /Mechanical Project Engineer
Location: Erie, PA
Duration: Contract-to-Direct hire, long-term
Pay range:  $28-$40/hr DOE
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for entire projects, including design, development, and project completion.  Translate customer requirements into product design for manufacturing.  
Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include; preliminary design, calculations, life cycle cost, and equipment selection.
Working with Sales, & Applications Engineering, acquire all relevant specifications and translate those specifications into a design for production.
Review engineering changes, specifications and documentation to ensure designs are to the latest revision levels.
Assist with trouble shooting efforts at build, and testing stages. 
Create parts lists (BOM) and enter into MRP system.
Work with project manager to meet document and drawing schedules.
Read and understand customer specifications for design purposes.
Initiate engineering changes on drawings and documents to ensure designs are to the latest revision levels and customer requirements.
Choose proper instrumentation to match customer requirements.
Work with design group in directing unit design to minimize material and fabrication costs.
Job Requirements:
Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, highly preferred
3 – 5+ years of related experience, including Mechanical Design
Knowledge of AutoCAD and all Microsoft applications
Knowledge and understanding of tolerances and symbols
Experience in mechanical piping systems and process controls
Ability to read and understand P&ID's 
Ability to evaluate design changes, specifications and drawing release
Demonstrate the ability to create final drawings and specifications
Ability to analyze specifications and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape and arrangement of parts
Knowledge of National Electrical code (NEC), certified in Underwriters Laboratory UL 508A or the ability to be certified. 
Experienced in electrical ladder and wiring diagrams
Knowledge of fabrication and welding processes. 
Bonus skills:
Understanding of ASME Section VIII pressure vessel code.
Understanding of ANSI B31.3 piping code a plus
PLC programing experience and ability to read and understand logic.
