Professional Services Field Engineer



Job Summary:

The Field Engineer I provides installation, configuration, development, and testing of computer systems based on customer needs, existing environment and business outcome.

The role leverages storage industry experience, knowledge of theoretical and practical systems analysis techniques and procedures to successfully integrate software and systems.

This position is not eligible for Relocation.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pre-integration analysis

  • Plans, documents, develops and tests solutions spanning a range of computer systems from remote / branch office to enterprise data center sites

  • Provides support for hardware and software solutions

  • Effectively and efficiently communicate with customer to ensure quality results are delivered based on their program requirements

  • Meets attendance and punctuality standards



Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable in manufacturers' computer system design and analysis, specifications and providing knowledge transfer

  • Foundational knowledge of technical principles, concepts and standards acquired via academic instruction and/or relevant work experience of substantially the same level.

  • Possesses clear and effective communication skills with customer, colleagues, and management 

  • Familiarity with systems integration, documentation, and planning procedures.



Experience:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Must have expertise in analyzing data storage centric environments and the ability to custom design and develop systems to meet customer needs

  • Understanding of Data Center computer systems fundamentals to include networking communication equipment (hubs, switches, routers), storage arrays and cloud-based concepts

  • Experience with Pure Storage FlashArray, Capacity Add, Non-Disruptive Upgrades and the FlashBlade platforms beneficial.



Education & Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED relevant experience.

At least two of the following, or equivalent industry certifications preferred:

  • CompTIA Cloud+ / Storage+ / Linux+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), MTA Cloud Infrastructure

  • OEM certifications beneficial
