Casual X-Ray Technologist

Description

Looking for a hard working, independent technologist, capable of working alone, but a strong team player. Committed to their role, and confident they can work with our pediatric population and physicians. Work closely with physicians and nurses, learn new systems and specific protocols. Able to multitask and prioritize patient workloads. Our Imaging hours of operation are 6:30 am to 6:00 pm M-F, as well as some weekend and holidays hours/call.

The Imaging Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams in compliance with departmental procedures and guidelines. The Technologist works with patients of all ages, cultures, and physical conditions and provides efficient and effective customer service.

Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient's condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams, consistent with our Gillette CARES expectations.

Major Challenges

  • Performs exams on patients that have varying degrees of physical and mental disabilities which require the use of non-traditional techniques and imaging procedures.
  • Ability to respond effectively to physician preference and peak demands in patient volume.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be certified and registered and in good standing with the ARRT
    OR
    ARRT certification-eligible and obtain ARRT certification and registration within one year of graduation from the educational program
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Require current CPR certification through the AHA
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience with pediatric and/or disabled populations
  • Flexibility and versatility in working with a variety of staff in a variety of areas
  • Require demonstrated skill in the area of interpersonal communication as it relates to patients, families, co-workers, medical staff, and others
  • Experience working in a digital imaging environment

Preferred:

  • Prefer a minimum of an Associate Degree
