Student - Student Accounts



Occupational Summary :

This position collaborates with the Student Accounts staff to ensure prompt and accurate processing of student account payments, departmental deposits, and various cash disbursements. This position also assists the Student Accounts Specialist with the day-to-day processing of students' accounts. Position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with students and other customers. This position also required a high level of confidentiality.

Work Performed:

  1. Greets students, parents and campus community in person and by telephone
  2. Accepts cash, checks, and credit card payments received for tuition payments and departmental deposits for the Student Accounts Specialist to process
  3. Assists students in regards to their student account. Duties include but not limited to: setting up payment plans, answering questions regarding students account, etc.
  4. Assists with distribution of petty cash, payroll checks, reimbursement checks, etc.
  5. Makes deliveries and pick-ups in other departments as needed
  6. Assists with the distribution and recording of parking permits
  7. Assists with office filing, data entry, copying, faxing, scanning, and shredding of documents as needed
  8. Provides back up for the Student Accounts Specialist as needed
  9. Performs any other duties as requested by the Student Accounts Specialist and Supervisor

Required Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills/Training:

  1. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  2. Must be a current Newman University student enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours) and must abide by the Newman University Student Code of Conduct
  3. Students' account must be in good financial standing with Newman University
  4. Strong computer skills. Preferably in: Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and Empower.
  5. Ability to work in busy office setting
