Proposal Material Coordinator

What You'll Be Doing:

The purpose of the Supply Chain Proposal Material Coordinator is to: Forecast manufacturing cost for simple to complex assemblies including raw materials selection, assembly labor, secondary, and final inspection. Prepare the bill of material data, gathers detail and estimates production costs according to customer specification. Follow company policy and procedure to ensure a safe, respectful workplace.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering and reviewing proposals, bill of materials, blueprints, specifications, and related documents

  • Submits request for proposals to vendors for raw materials and resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings

  • Compiles material, labor, and overhead costs to produce quotes to customers

  • Assists the labor estimating/purchasing team as needed

  • Analyze gaps between estimated and actual material and labor costs

  • Contact suppliers for quotes and schedule details

  • Collaborates with other departments, vendors and customers to initiate cost reductions

Job Requirements:


High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree in Business or related field preferred.


  • 2-3 years experience in manufacturing

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Presentation skills for groups, managers, clients, and the general public

  • Problem solving Skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (focus on Excel)
