Maintenance Generalist

Lycoming College is seeking applications for a full-time Maintenance Generalist as part of our Buildings & Grounds team. This is a year-round position that comes with excellent benefits. The typical hours for this position are Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm; with occasional call in’s for emergencies. This position primarily supports our painting, carpentry, plumbing and grounds and general laborer groups as needed. This position performs semi-skilled work of various campus interior and exterior structures, minor plumbing repairs and maintenance, carpentry and general physical labor functions on campus.

Duties and responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

  • Completing work requests as assigned by the Lead Painter in regards to painting, staining, and varnishing
  • Assisting with overseeing the student paint crews
  • Completing work requests as assigned by the Lead Carpenter
  • Assisting with general construction projects as needed
  • Completing work requests as assigned by the Lead Plumber in preventative maintenance and minor plumbing repairs on campus
  • Completing work requests as assigned by the Supervisor of Building & Grounds of General Labor on campus, specifically mowing, planting, weeding, and snow removal.
  • Acts as special events support as needed

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience with painting, carpentry, and plumbing maintenance preferred.
  • Computer skills are essential for utilization of e-mails and work requests
  • Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
