This Software Senior Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of data transmission software products and supporting tools for the File Transmission Services (FTS) organization. They will also be responsible for the development activities associated with Axway & IBM Managed File Transfer (MFT) products and custom developed tools. This is a senior hands on technology position in File Transmissions Services (FTS) focusing on security, solutions, automation, and Integration. This role is part of a small but high performing group of developers and engineers responsible for automation/solution/integration/development of necessary tools for Managed File Transmission (MFT) systems.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Drive technology transformation initiative end to end from solution identification to implementation
  • Responsible for leading large project technology solution implementation end to end
  • Collaborate with Business, architecture, platform group to define target state architecture
  • Drive detailed technical design and perform design review
  • Partner with Product managers to deliver enhancements to the platform
  • Provide hands-on technology leadership
  • Challenge status quo and be a change agent to drive implementation of technology solution

In summary, ensure that the solutions that we provide are secure, stable, simple, and usable to ensure project delivery success.



Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 10+ years of application development experience
  • 10+ years of Java experience
  • 10+ years of secure SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies experience



Desired Qualifications

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience communicating in both written and verbal formats with senior executive-level leaders
  • 7+ years of secure file transmission protocols experience
  • 7+ years of UNIX experience
  • 5+ years of risk and regulatory compliance experience
  • 5+ years of Linux experience
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • 5+ years of relational database experience
  • 5+ years of web applications experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of web application: development
  • Knowledge and understanding of UI (User Interface)
  • Web applications experience
  • API programming experience with Perl, XML, REST or JSON
  • Red Hat Engineer Certification
  • Experience designing or developing automated solutions to business problems
  • 5+ years of experience working within an application development environment
  • 3+ years of risk and threat management experience
  • 3+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services
  • Ability to dissect technical problems, analyze data, and recommend potential solutions
