Tape Machine Operator - 2nd shift

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • 2nd shift packaging: Monday - Friday 6:00pm - 4:00am (shift times subject to change); Saturday work possible
    • Read and understand the production schedule.
    • Communicate with Box Erector.
    • Enter basic computer information.
    • Apply labels to boxes when required.
    • Maintain clean work area.
    • Set up tape machine in timely manner.
    • Complete skid tag information.
    • Recognize potential machine problems.
    • Follow all plant and corporate safety and food safety policies and procedures.
      • Report safety incidents to supervisor/management immediately.
    • Report food safety concerns to supervisor/management immediately.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Participate in plant audit and inspection preparation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Be able to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Be able to push or pull up to 200 pounds on wheeled equipment.
  • Be able to perform tasks requiring standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching.
  • Be able to stand for majority of shift.
  • Be able to read/write English.
  • Be able to work in high ambient temperatures.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:
  • Six (6) months food manufacturing experience preferred.
