Pharmacy Tech Ord Entry
Job Position:
Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, receives, verifies, and enters prescription orders into the pharmacy computer application; processes refill requests; answers telephone and serves as liaison between patient and physician’s office or insurance company. Assists with processing of copayments as well as preparing packages for shipment.
 
 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
 
  • Enters orders accurately into patient medication profile in pharmacy computer application
  • Contacts physician’s office when necessary to clarify clinical issues
  • Processes refill requests
  • Answers telephone and emails promptly
  • Organizes and prioritizes work assignments
  • Assists with processing of copayments
  • Receives inventory and dispenses accordingly
  • Prepares packages to be shipped via appropriate carrier
 
 
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
 
•            Certified Pharmacy Technician – State of North Carolina – required
•            National Pharmacy Technician Certification – required
•            3 years pharmacy experience – preferred
•            Should be familiar with medical terminology
•            Excellent communication skills
