Sight Reliability Engineer

One of our industry-leading clients is looking for a Sight Reliability Engineer (SRE) to work on the development, analysis and use of monitoring tools.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities of the SRE:
  • Support Portal 24/7 operations, and provide on-call support as needed
  • Troubleshoot anomalies in portal system
  • Integrate new data sources to enhance the Portal infrastructure monitoring tool
  • Support the development of new visual aids and enhance existing visual aids to improve early detection of infrastructure anomalies
  • Improve the performance of existing and new monitoring tools
  • Support the troubleshooting activities to identify the root cause of infrastructure anomalies
  • Ensure the system’s high availability
  • Maintain required Service Level Agreements (SLA)
Requirements of the SRE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, related field or equivalent experience.
  • 4 or more years of experience supporting a 24x7 Internet-oriented production environment
  • Proficiency in scripting with Python, Perl, or shell
  • Thorough understanding of fundamental internet protocols such as DNS, HTTP, and TCP
  • Proven experience in various website/infrastructure monitoring tools, such as Chartbeat, ExtraHop, NewRelic, Dynatrace and Splunk
  • Familiarity with common open-source infrastructure tools
  • Experience with common networking equipment (Cisco, Juniper, F5, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols
  • Experience in fast paced Agile environments using Scrum/Kanban
  • Experience in DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD)
  • Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance and must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years
  • AWS experience using AWS FedRamp
  • AWS System Administration certification(s)
  • SAFe certification(s)
  • Experience using JIRA
