The Safety, Health and Environmental Manager oversees and manages all safety and environmental programs at a manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for developing policies, procedures, and programs that ensure the safety of Henkel Associates, contractors, vendors, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
•Engage with both plant and corporate leadership in building strategic plans and energize plant associates in safety and environmental improvement.  Develops and implements innovative strategies with the goal of creating a culture of safety.•Develop and standardize policies, procedures, and programs aimed at improving safety performance and ensuring regulatory compliance.•Analyzes and actions data regarding performance against organizational metrics, incident trends, serious incidents, regulatory and legal issues.  •Organizes and manages the incident investigation process within the facility using participative root cause analysis techniques. •Develops a CI/LEAN approach that proactively identifies opportunities and finds solutions based on industry best practices.•Subject matter expert providing analytical and technical guidance related to OSHA, DOT, EPA Standards, process safety, and lock out tag out.•Oversees Workers Compensation injury review, investigation, and corrective actions.  Collaborates with risk management, HR and carriers to effectively manage claims.•Works closely with Plant Management, HR and Logistics to problem-solve and implement solutions.•Develops and implements sampling and monitoring plans which may include installing, operating and maintaining equipment which monitor air, land, and/or water pollution level•Collaborates cross functionally to ensure effective equipment guarding, design, installation and compliance.•Work with on-site Safety Committees to achieve excellence in safety performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS•Bachelor’s degree; Occupational Safety & Health or related discipline highly preferred. 
•ASP/CSP highly preferred •5 to 10 years of safety experience in manufacturing within a Fortune 100 Food or CPG manufacturing company 
•Strong written and oral communication skills, organized, self motivated for excellence, has a high standard of performance expectation of self, works effectively in teams.
•Use of the Microsoft Office suite, Excel, Word, Power Point as part of normal job duties.•Statistical knowledge and aptitude.•Understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodology.•Experience/understanding of ISO 14001, 50001, and 45001.  •Strong project, organizational and time management.•Ability to work well with both technical and non-technical people.•Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.•Strong leadership and influencing skills.•Excellent communication and presentation skills.•Experience managing contractors and vendors.•Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a complex and dynamic environment with little or no supervision.•Ability to influence senior leaders by demonstrating subject matter expertise, excellent business acumen, and strong leadership..
