CWI/NDT Technician

We are seeking a career-minded individual for the position of CWI/NDT Technician, preferably someone who is looking for long-term growth and potential . SUMMARY: Perform testing and inspections on machined and welded components, structural steel, airframes and more.



Job Requirements:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that all testing and inspection is performed in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Ensure that all testing equipment is always in proper working order and in current calibration
  • Performs visual inspection and NDT of components and materials
  • Ensures proper documentation of discrepancies on appropriate forms, work orders, tags or logs
  • Ensures that shift turnover procedures are followed and properly documented
  • Complies with procedures and company policies
  • Assist in other tasks as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college or trade school preferred
  • Three or more years of QA/QC in industrial, manufacturing, welding or related field required
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter that can identify potential problems and collaborate with customers, engineers and management to ensure products meet design standards
  • Must possess willingness to assist where needed to ensure the company meets its goals and objectives on time
  • Must possess good time management skills
  • Willing to learn and apply new skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups
  • Self-motivated, able to multi-task, and detail oriented
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills

Background checks and Drug Screenings will be completed on all candidates considered for hire.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certified Welding Inspector required
  • Level II in UT and MT required
  • Other methods of discipline is a plus
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be able to learn procedures quickly and be a team player
  • Must be able to work well unsupervised
  • Must be willing to work all shifts, weekends and overtime when required
  • Easily adapt to new organizations / technical environments
  • Must be able to perform a variety of routine tasks and demonstrate a good working knowledge of equipment, procedures and working with common hand tools

PREFERRED:

  • Welding experience preferred
  • Aerospace experience preferred
  • Other NDT Methods

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Frequently required to sit, walk, or stand
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read
    technical information, and/or use a keyboard
  • Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds
  • Work on Specialized equipment
  • Drive long distances
