About the Role

The position of Information Technology (IT) Support Technician is established to execute the day to day activities related to information technology and to ensure the effective, efficient and secure operation of all technology systems. The IT Support Technician provides general expertise, and capabilities in the implementation of IT programs and the analytic skills in the troubleshooting and resolution of IT related incidents. The IT Support Technician acts to support NLCS end users and under the direction of the Information Technology Director. Some responsibilities include:

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and organize
  • Comfortable interacting with senior leaders and executives
  • Provides help desk support and resolutions for all Tier 1&2 issues
  • Ensures customer satisfaction
  • Provides proactive support and monitoring of company applications, servers and networks
  • Resolves issues and advises the end users in technical matters
  • Provides management and support of all desktops / laptops / tablets and peripheral devices
  • Assists in the implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting network infrastructure
  • Monitors and maintains IT ticketing system for IT operations to ensure standards of operation
  • Follows written policies and procedures regarding all computer operations
  • The IT Support Technician frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Work may be required afterhours, weekends, and holidays to include on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis

To be successful in this role
  • Associates degree or CompTIA A+ Certification with at least 2 years work experience in all phases of computer operations
  • In depth and complete knowledge of all aspects of computing including hardware, software, networking, and licensing
  • Access to reliable transportation; ability and willingness to travel when necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical systems and terms into lay language
