We Are Seeking

With every job we fill, our focus is on providing best in class service to our citizens while offering the opportunity for professional growth in a rewarding and innovative work environment.   Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Utility Electrician.

The Electrician reports to the potable Water Production Supervisors. The primary function of this position is to provide technical expertise to the potable water production facilities and remote ground water Well Distribution system. Ensures all electrical and operational systems are in working order. Could be called upon to assist other Gilbert departments as needed.


  • Monitoring, maintaining and repairing equipment;
  • Generate Lucity work orders for electrical and I & C systems;
  • Troubleshoot all electrical systems;
  • Perform preventive maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems;
  • Meet with Engineering team to assist with development, design, construction and commission of department systems;
  • Prepare monthly reports;
  • Work on various projects involving electrical systems;
  • Other duties as assigned.

At Team Gilbert , we hire innovative, forward thinking problem-solvers who love what they do!  In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates must possess the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in electrical systems integration and system control wiring
  • 4 years of experience in electrical construction and general electrical service
  • 2 years of experience in electrical control wiring
  • 4 years Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License
  • ADEQ Grade I Water Distribution or Water Treatment Certification within 1 year of hire.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

  • Advanced knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
  • The operation of a variety of electrical testing equipment.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in computer use and a variety of window's driven software.
  • Written and verbal communication systems.
Some positions must meet the physical standards and requirements for the wearing of an Air Purifying Respirator (APR) and a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) respiratory protection equipment. Must be able to qualify to use protective respirator equipment based on passing a specialized physical examination by hire or promotion date and maintain respirator certification.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.
